Sana Contractor is a public health researcher working on the field of sexual and reproductive health, with a focus on inequities and concerns of marginalised and socially excluded communities. She currently works at the Centre for Health and Social Justice New Delhi, as researcher manager.
She will be talking about the experiences of indigenous women in southern Odisha, as they negotiate maternal health care services in the public health system. The talk will attempt to highlight the dissonances between public policies vis a vis maternal health, and women's own realities, drawing out the impact of class, caste and gender on the health of women
