UN Recognition for Nepal's Organic School

On 16th September, UN-General Assembly Side event has been held at the UN Secretariat, UN building, New York. The side event was about Youth, land and agriculture.

Yamina Djacta, Director of UN Habitat, New York Office, Ahmad Alhendawi, United Nations’ Secretary General’s Envoy on Youth had given opening remarks.  BK Dalit, President of Team for Nature and Wildlife (TNW) and Convener of the Nepali Greens, was one of the key note speakers of the event representing Nepal.


Global Greens encourage Greens Japan to work for the cessation of nuclear power and the Trans Pacific Partnership through Japan's National Elections

The Global Greens are strongly encouraging Greens Japan who are contesting Japan’s Upper House elections for the first time and campaigning against nuclear power and the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP). Greens Japan have 10 candidates standing in the 121 member Upper House. The elections on 21 July will be the first for the Upper House since the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant disaster, and a test of Japan’s attitude to nuclear power.

Kamlaris' movement in Nepal

We on behalf of Nepali Greens Party, would like to kindly inform all of you that Kamlaris have been sitting-in protest in different parts of the capital to practically abolish the kamlari system, to punish the guilty involved in the murder of 12 year old Srijana Choudhari, provide young Kamlari girls with scholarships and set up a separate fund for their welfare.


Assassinat d'un militant du parti Vert au Pakistan

Hier l'un des sympathisants du Parti Vert, M.Shahnawaz Panhwer a ete tue par des assassins non-identifies a Dadu, dans le province de Sindh.

Quelques jours avant son assassinat il avait organise a l'intention du candidat electoral du Parti Vert du PS-73 M.Imriaz Panhwer (qui soutenait le bloc de l'opposition politique contre le parti sortant) une grande assemblee publique dans son village. Sa femme nous a dit que deux personnes etaient venus lui demander qui il soutenait, et apres sa reponse ils lui ont tire dessus.

New Zealand Legalises Same-Sex marriage

History was made in New Zealand last night as the Marriage Equality Bill passed its final reading through the house of parliament.

This resulted in same sex marriage now becoming legal in New Zealand. New Zealand is the 13th country internationally to legalise same-sex marriage, and the first in the Asia Pacific region.

This is something New Zealand Green MP Kevin Hague has been working hard advocating for a very long time, and the entire Green caucus (14 Members of Parliament) voted in favour, and gave heartfelt speeches supporting equal love.

Call for dialogue among countries participating in the escalation of tension on the Korean Peninsula.

The Green Parties of South Korea, Taiwan and Japan call for unconditional dialogue among countries responsable for the escalation of tension on the Korean Peninsula, in recognition that war has devastating impacts for all earthly inhabitants, and that nonviolence and sustainability are core values for both Greens and peace-loving nations alike.
