Nepali Greens climate speech, by Ballav Timalsina

Thanks to APGF governing body very much for inviting Nepali Greens in this grand forum, thanks to APGF staffs who made this event a grand success. My dear friends and respected Dr. Kennedy,

2015 is the year for leadership on climate change and inequality.

The Green Party has set its two key political priorities for the next term as tackling climate change and inequality and has issued a challenge to the Government to make 2015 the year it wages war on both.

In his speech in reply at Parliament today, Green Party Co-leader Dr Russel Norman will say the Green Party would focus on the twin crises facing our nation and the world – climate change and inequality.

NZ Greens Opening of Parliament Speech February 2015

Tēnā koutou, Tēnā koutou, Tēnā koutou katoa.

A brief history of climate change

What a summer! It’s been hot, even here in Wellington. All over the country, green fields have turned a golden brown, rivers have dried up or slowed to a trickle, and, unfortunately for our farmers and for our native plants and animals, the threat of drought now hangs heavy over the land.

Will 2015 be another record year for the climate?

Most of the videos, listed and linked below, were recorded by Craig Seeman at the Green Party's gathering spot before the march, on Central Park West near 79th Street.

Mr. Seeman and Sanda Everette recorded panels featuring Greens during the Climate Convergence, "a weekend packed with skill-shares, teach-ins, speak-outs and protests from September 19-21 in conjunction with the People's Climate March" (http://convergeforclimate.org). Kennedy Graham's speech on the Government motion on the situation in Gaza

Israel justifies its actions in Gaza in the name of self-defence. The inherent right of self-defence, sanctioned in international law for several centuries now, does not justify what Israel is currently doing in Gaza. Most jurists around the world are describing the Israeli actions as an excessive use of force and a violation of humanitarian law.

General Debate: NZ MP Kennedy Graham on UN Security Council & Climate Change

I rise to ask this House to take time out from the largely Skycity-focused debate today to focus on the most important issue that is actually facing humanity.

Last Friday the United Nations Security Council held an informal meeting on climate change. It is a significant event. Slowly but surely the Security Council is moving towards adopting climate change as a security issue for its agenda.
